Since the launch of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at USI, now eight years ago, IBSA Foundation has continued to promote research and education with constant commitment.
Since 2017, IBSA Foundation has renewed its dedication to young talents each year, supporting the academic journey of future doctors at USI.
On 20 October 2025, the IBSA Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony took place, during which 62 scholarships were granted to first-year students and 51 to second-year students of the Master of Medicine programme, for a total of 113 scholarships.
The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Professor Giovanni Pedrazzini, who welcomed the large audience of students and outlined the scholarship allocation criteria, explaining the selection process in detail. He also highlighted how the scholarships offered by the Foundation represent not only valuable support for students, but also a strategic tool to attract young talents from different countries and encourage them to study medicine in Ticino.
‘Ticino is a welcoming place that offers an ideal environment for studying and living peacefully. We at the IBSA Foundation are delighted to be able to support future doctors in their development. I hope that your experience here will enrich you, not only academically but also personally.’
With these words, the President and CEO of the IBSA Group, Arturo Licenziati, welcomed the students of the Master's programme in Medicine. His message of closeness and support clearly reflects the Foundation's commitment to supporting young people during their academic careers.
Also attending the ceremony was Silvia Misiti, Director of IBSA Foundation.
The event concluded with a moment of open dialogue and direct exchange with the students.
