At just 25 years of age, Inés has very clear ideas and is actively committed to making her ideals become reality.

Inés, a young Peruvian, currently living in Paris, has contributed to the creation of Makesense TV, a community that, through a subscription-based service, provides ideas, tools and the network to reinforce solidarity in a time of crisis and regularly provides people with accurate, helpful information about Covid-19. Makesense TV is based in France, but the service has also been made available in English to appeal to a wider audience.

Inés is also one of the founders of Ensemble Pour TECHO, an association that aims to raise awareness of TECHO’s activities in France and in Europe. TECHO is a non-governmental organization that works with 500 communities in Latin America with the aim of eradicating poverty by raising awareness and fundraising.

During the epidemic its main priority is to help medical staff in a hospital to get masks. The spreading of correct information is also important: this is why Inés contributed to the creation of a Covid-19 FAQ page, which explains in very simple terms the best practices and ways for disadvantaged communities to protect themselves.

TECHO has also launched a crowdfunding page to provide the most disadvantaged areas with the necessary hygiene provisions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, offering food packages and emergency accommodation to families affected by the pandemic, and supporting the management of the water service, so that people could wash their hands frequently and properly.

A much-needed commitment in an area of the world particularly pushed to the limits by the spread of the coronavirus.

“Spread sense not the virus”, Inés’ commitment is a great example of how young people, using their talent and enthusiasm, can produce innovative ideas and set up networks to develop effective actions of solidarity.
