Museum Tour
In German-speaking Switzerland, a new Let's Science! initiative is underway.
IBSA Foundation for scientific research proudly presents the innovative Scientific Museum Tour project, granting secondary school classes the opportunity to take part in museum workshops for free. The students can explore science in a different way and profit on multiple levels from the experience.
What Can You Expect from the Museum Tour?
The project features seven different museums and thirteen workshops to choose from, where school classes can explore topics covered in class or in textbooks in greater depth, in line with Curriculum 21.
After the workshop, students will have the opportunity to illustrate what they’ve learned through drawings. The IBSA Foundation will provide the“Let’s Science!” books and a set of drawing supplies.
This activity is useful not only for learning illustration techniques but also for helping students retain the concepts covered during the workshops. In this way, a topic can be explored from different perspectives.

Who is this project intended for?
The program is aimed at classes in German-speaking Switzerland, specifically first-, second-, and third-year students in lower secondary school or those between the ages of 13 and 15.
The program includes goodie bags containing books from the “Let’s Science!” series and a small coloring comic book.
What to expect from the Scientific Museum Tour?
The project involves seven different museums and thirteen workshops to choose from, where students can explore topics discussed during class hours or on study books, in line with Curriculum 21.
After the workshop, the students can record what they have learned in drawings. IBSA Foundation will offer «Let's Science!» books and a set of drawing materials (paper pad, pens, templates).
This does not only aim at illustrating what was learned but helping to memorize.
In this way, a subject can be explored from all angles.
Practically in the museum tour, theoretically on the books, and in the comic course as a personal visualization.
Who is the project aimed at?
The programme is aimed at school classes in German-speaking Switzerland. Each year, around 25 classes from lower and upper secondary schools – that is, the first, second and third years of each school cycle, corresponding to the 12 to 18 age group – are eligible to take part.

"Let's Science!" Series
"Let’s Science!" is a series of 10 books (available in Italian, English, German, and French), published by Carocci Editore, which the IBSA Foundation produced in collaboration with the DECS. The books feature a scientific text written by doctors and scientists, along with a comic strip scripted by middle school students from Ticino.
"The Pasteur Kids" Series
Published by Carocci Editore, this series is the result of a collaboration between the IBSA Foundation and the Pasteur Institute of Italy, and is aimed at middle and high school students. The students are not only the target audience of the initiative but its actual authors.
