Establishment of EU ethical guidelines for the use of Artificial Intelligence | IBSA Foundation

Artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming the focus of attention of political institutions. Its implications and how to drive innovation forward was discussed recently at the G7 summit held in Charlevoix in Canada, and the EU Commission has just appointed a taskforce of 52 experts, entrusted with the writing the first ethical guidelines by 2018, which will be followed, in 2019, by a series of precise recommendations regarding the principles to be followed for the development for Artificial Intelligence.

Representing Italy will be Stefano Quintarelli (President of the Committee of the Agency for Digital Italy AGID), Luciano Floridi (Professor of Philosophy and Information Ethics), Andrea Renda (sociologist and researcher at the Centre for European Policy Studies) and Francesca Rossi (IBM researcher on Artificial Intelligence).
