For the first time, IBSA Foundation for scientific research took part in the 34th edition of the festival. The occasion was an artistic and scientific tour on the topic of dreams, based on the book “Sleep and Dreams” from the Let’s Science! series.

From March 7 to 15, 2026, the Fumetto Comic Festival transformed Lucerne for the 34th time into a hub for the international comic scene. Far beyond traditional comics, the festival explores visual storytelling through a wide range of contemporary art forms, blending graphic art, visual arts and new media.
IBSA Foundation for scientific research was present at the international comic festival Fumetto in Lucerne, with an artistic and scientific journey dedicated to dreams, inspired by the book "Sleep and Dreams" from the Let’s Science! series.

Combining comics and science is an important element of the Let’s Science! project by IBSA Foundation. Aimed at young people, it uses original visual storytelling and a variety of formats to spark an interest in research. This is because communicating science through comics makes even complex topics accessible and engaging, even for adults.
The project finds a natural connection with the Fumetto festival, which every spring is dedicated to illustrated stories. It is also visited by many young comic fans and offers interactive tours and various workshops for school classes.
The festival places its exhibitions throughout Lucerne: not only in museums, but also in cultural institutions, hotels or shops that present works by comics artists.
A tour through the city, guided by dreams
The "satellites", as these exhibitions are called, are visited on themed tours that take visitors through the city districts.
IBSA Foundation was present with the tour “Between Dreaming” and thus also provided financial support for the festival. The selection of the seven exhibitions for the tour is based on the book “Sleep and Dreams” from the Let’s Science! series.
The approximately 4-kilometre route took visitors on a journey through the land of dreams, where everything seems possible. The artists Martha Burger, Stefan Bucher-Twerenbold, Ines Brost, Wolfgang Wiler, Danay, Niels Walter and Jo Rüßmann explored the boundaries between reality and fiction in their exhibitions.
And along the way ofthe tour, there were also some dreamlike corner of Lucerne to discover.
This collaboration marks the beginning of a joint journey with the Fumetto Comic Festival, set to continue next year.
