Personal data information notice

In accordance with the provisions regulating the protection of personal data, namely with Article 19of the Federal Act on Data Protection of 19 June 1992 (FADP) and with Article 13 of EU Regulation No. 2016/679, IBSA Foundation for scientific research, as the data controller (below the “Foundation” or the “Controller”), is required to inform you about the use of your personal information that you may provide to us (so-called “personal data”).

 

1. Purpose of the personal data processing

Your personal data concerned will be used for the following purposes:

  1. Participation to the event for which you are interested in the registration;
  2. “Information activity”, to enable the Foundation, directly or through third parties specifically appointed by the Foundation, to provide you, through dedicated personnel and/or forwarding of material through printed or digital channels (i.e. email), with the information relating to the activities and/or the scientific initiatives organized or sponsored by the Foundation;
  3. Sharing your personal data with MASI, Museo d’Arte della Svizzera Italiana – Lugano to enable MASI, directly or through third parties specifically appointed by MASI, to provide you, through dedicated personnel and/or forwarding of material through printed or digital channels (i.e. email), with the information relating to the activities and initiatives organized or sponsored by MASI.

 

2. Nature of the provision of the personal data and consent

We inform you that the processing of your personal data for the purpose referred to in point 1A of this information is carried out in accordance with art. 6.1 lett. b) of the EU Regulation 2016/679, so the provision of data is optional but necessary for the performance of the relationship between the parties. A refusal will make it impossible for the Foundation to execute the purpose above.

The processing of your personal data for the purposes referred to in point 1B and point 1C of this information is based on your consent. Your consent is optional but essential for the achievement of the purpose itself. A refusal to provide consent will not allow the achievement of the purpose itself.

 

3. How the data are processed

The data are processed through information technology procedures or in any case using automated means or printed matter by persons, either internal or external, specifically responsible for this task and bound to confidentiality. The data are protected by the security measures envisaged by the legislation, designed to prevent unauthorized access, loss or destruction.

 

4. Scope of circulation of the data

Your personal data may be used by personnel of the Foundation that have been given appropriate operating instructions under an obligation of confidentiality to prevent accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration or unauthorized disclosure. The data may be used by personnel of the Foundation that have been given appropriate operating instructions under an obligation of confidentiality.

Your personal data may also be used by third-party entities providing operational services on behalf of the Foundation, which act as external data processors under the direction and supervision of the Foundation.

5. Communication of the data

Your personal data may be disclosed on social media profiles of the Foundation through publication of audio/video recording carried ut during the event as well as to communication to the media.

 

6. How long the data are kept

Your personal data will be stored for the time strictly necessary for the purposes described in the present notice, in any event up to the statutory and legal time limit in compliance with the rights and the resulting obligations and in accordance with the principles of data minimization and storage limitation. We update and maintain our databases to grant your personal data are constantly correct and exact. With regard to the purpose referred to in point 1B, your personal data will be retained for all the duration of the mailing list service until you withdraw your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time through the functionality “Unsubscribe

 

7. Transfer of the data abroad

In accordance with the laws and regulations that we are subject to, your personal data will not be transferred to organizations located in other countries.

 

8. Rights of the data subject

In relation to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to be informed at any time about your data held by the Controller and how they are used. You also have the right to have the data updated, corrected or erased, to request their portability or restriction of processing, in the cases provided for by law, and to object to the processing of the data unless the Controller has a legitimate interest in the data. To exercise your rights and to obtain more detailed information about the persons or categories of persons to whom the data are communicated and/or transferred or who become aware of the data as controllers or processors, you can contact us:

Lastly and only to the extent that the provisions of GDPR apply, we advise you of your right to file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if you feel your rights have been disregarded or, despite the legal requirement, you receive no response to your requests.

 

9. Data Controller

The Controller is the Foundation IBSA Institut Biochimique SA, with registered office in Strada di Gandria 4 6976 Castagnola-Lugano Switzerland.
